  • 為配合國家資訊基礎建設 NIl(National Information Infrastructure)之發展,『遠距教學先導系統』規劃同時建立『即時群播』、『虛擬教室』及『課程隨選』三套遠距教學實驗系統,並由台大、清大、交大、中正及成功五所大學依自已的特性及經驗選擇其中一套實驗系統進行設置及測試,使得運用電腦網路作線上教學成為一個重要的研究工作。
    因地理上的距離及時間的限制,使得老師與學生無法同時在適當的時間及地點進行教學活動而造成學生學習上的不足。虛擬教室VC(Virtual Classroom)是結合資訊與電腦網路技術並可應用作遠距教學的一種教學活動,其主要是利用網際網路(Internet)的通訊功能及電子資訊交換系統EIES(Electronic Information Exchange System)為架構,在網路上建構虛擬的教與學情境藉以輔助傳統教學方式受限時空因素的缺點。而創造良好的學習環境以增進學習效果是所有從事教育工作者所努力的目標。傳統的教學方式乃是教師將教材的知識單向地的傳授給學生,這種方式受到距離、時間和空間的限制,另外,它也有進度控制難以掌握以及學習效果不易評量等缺失。因此若想改善傳統的教學方式所產生的問題,營造良好的學習環境就必須針對教師、教材、教室與學生等四項因素進行改善。
    為配合行政院『加強資訊軟體人才培訓方案』,計畫將結合學校及民間機構共同推動培訓資訊軟體人才,其目標將在88年度培訓5000人次、89年度培訓7500人次及90年度培訓10000人次的資訊軟體人才;目前各行業及資訊業均面臨資訊軟體人才嚴重短缺的問題,軟體人才除由正規教育體系培養外,估計每年不足約五千至一萬人,有鑑於此,本研究嘗試建置電腦語言虛擬教室以培養資訊軟體人才,使任何有興趣學習電腦語言的遙端學生可透過網際網路(Internet)隨時隨地作線上教學練習,再經由系統化分析與設計記錄學習者的學習路徑以做為學習診斷的依據。
    最後,經由本研究可以獲致結論如下:
    一、服務性架構︰以服務學習電腦語言Visual Basic的使用者為出發點,提供不同對象或層級所需之內容並瞭解及學會撰寫電腦語言Visual Basic的技術及技巧。 二、開放式架構:採開放式架構構有興趣之學生或教師進入使用本網站進行各種教學活動。
    三、分工式架構:事先分析與規劃課程項目與內容之機取其它網站已建立或維護的內容,讓本網站隨時保持容。例如:電腦語言的基本常識、常用指令及各版本由本系統建置完成而高階程式撰寫技術由其它專業網站運用超連結方式與本網站串連。
    四、多媒體化架構:運用最先進之互動式網站建置技術Platform之ASP (ActiVe Server page)等技術與資料庫伺服系統達到互動式之瀏覽效果外並藉由學生的學習歷程記錄實現網路能力本位教學理念。
    五、擴充式架構:系統機制除了採用Internet/Intranet之標準協定外(TCP/IP, HTTP*HTML, SMTP等),並在機制與服務項目上作好單元分類與性質分析,使網站具有擴充性。

    In accordance with the development of National Information Infrastructure project of " Distance Learning pilot system " is set up with 3 expenirimental Distance Learning subsystems including " Real time broadcasting "," Virtual Classroom " and " Course-on-demand ". National Taiwan University, National Tsinghua University, National Chiao Tung Univ., National Cheng Kang Univ. and National Chung-Chen Univ. can choose one of the experimental sets of system to install and test on the basis of each school's characteristics and experiences. Therefore, on-line teaching by means of Internet has become an important research task.
    Because of the limit of geographical distance and time, teachers and students cannot have class at a proper time and place, which results in insufficiency of learning. VC is a kind of teaching activity that combines information and Internet technology to be applied in Distance Learning. It mainly employs the communicative function of Internet and the structure of Electronic Information Exchange System, to construct Virtual teaching and learning circumstances to make up the demerit of being limited by time and space, which is typical to traditional teaching methods. Besides, to create a good learning environment to enhance learning effect is the goal of all educators. Traditional teaching method is that teachers pass knowledge of teaching materials down to students in one-way direction. Such way is limited by distance, time and space. Also, it has the problem of difficulty in controlling pace of teaching and in evaluating learning effect. Thus, if we want to solve the problem generated by traditional technique and create a good learning environment, we have to improve such 4 factors as teacher, teaching material, classroom, and student.
    In coordination with Executive Yuan's "Plan of Development and Training of Information software Professionals," schools and private institutes will cooperate to promote the development and training of software professionals. The goal is to develop and train 5000 people in the year of 1999, 7500 people in 2000 and 10000 in 2001. At present every trade and information business face the serious shortage of software professionals. Besides those software professionals who are cultivated by standard education system, it's estimated that there is a lack of 5000~10000 people per year. With a View to this phenomenon, this study tries to establish and install Visual Basic Virtual Classroom to cultivate information software professionals. Any students at a far end who are interested in learning Visual Basic can practice on-line learning through internet at any time. Systematic analysis and programmed record of learner's learning path will provide basis for diagnosis of student's learning. At last, the conclusion of the study is as follows : VC has 5 characteristics.
    1. Providing Service
    The aim of VC is to serve users learning Visual Basic with necessary contents and techniques for using Visual Basic.
    2. Open to the public
    Any interested students or teachers, following a fixed norm can enter the system for learning and teaching.
    3. Establishing by collaboration
    The designers of the system analyze and plan the control factors of courses and contents in advance, and adopt some established and preserved contents of other Web-sites. This Web-site is often updated to keep it new and plentiful. For example, the basic common sense of Visual Basic, useful commands, and differences of all versions are set up in this site. The programming of high-tech programs are linked from other professional Web-sites to this site by means of hyperlink.
    4. Using Multimedia
    Using the most advanced interactive technique of establishing Web-site such as ASP of Platform, etc. and database server to achieve the effect of interactive browsing effect. The record of student's learning history by computer also realizes the idea of internet-centered learning.
    5. Capacity of expansion
    The system not only adopts the protocol of Internet/intranet like TCP/IP, HTTP/HTML, SMTP and soon; but also classifies units and characteristics of service items to make the Web-site liable to expansion.
