鑑於學校行政業務資料量的迅速增長，且因應校務行政電腦化的潮流，促使資源真正達到共享、資料重複利用，藉以提昇學校行政效率的先決要求，因此希望能藉由財產管理資訊系統的開發，試著將發展這個系統的經驗擴展到校務行政電腦化的其它領域。

論文中針對研究主題財產管理資訊系統之整個發展歷程作詳盡的敘述。首先探討師大現行系統的概況，以及從資料庫、網路環境、作業環境、學校發展各個觀點分析所面臨的問題，並參考目前各大學之財產管理資訊系統。而後在系統發展方面，則以資料流程圖、實體關係圖結構化的方法進行系統之分析與設計，且採用電腦輔助軟體工程工具做為系統規劃時的輔助，再依據系統規劃之藍圖以及系統本身所處的作業環境，選定合宜的系統架構與開發工具以建置系統。最後進行系統導入程序，現行財產管理作業由舊系統轉換至新系統，並從資訊技術觀點以及使用者觀點兩方面，分別對系統作評比及分析，藉以檢視新系統的效用。

革新版的財產管理資訊系統的確解決了舊系統所面臨的問題，更在資訊技術上提供一個具擴充性的開放性系統，未來可因應行政流程的變動，更改系統納入新的系統功能，也可隨著資訊科技的進步，將新的資訊技術整合至新系統，促使系統有更好的效能；在使用者操作使用上，亦提供給使用者一個更為符合行政業務需求的系統，藉以減輕行政人員的負擔，提昇其工作效率。

Assets management is one of the major tasks in computerizing university administrations. The enormous data volume of an assets management information system is unparalleled in other university administrative computing systems. From videotapes that cost a few dollars to equipment costing million of dollars, every dollar of purchase need to be recorded. Computerization not only allows quick generations of monthly and annual assets reports, it can also allows university officials or researchers to share equipment usage.

This thesis gives a complete description of the process involved in developing an Assets Management Information System for the National Taiwan Normal University. The system that was in use is summarized. Designing of a new system requires complete understanding of the inner working of the old system. Furthermore, interviews with university officials gave insights into improvement directions. Data flow diagrams and entity relationship diagrams are drawn to ensure correctness of the design of the new system. The physical system was implemented using PowerBuilder with Sybase enterprise database server. The completed system was field-tested and its usefulness was analyzed.
