Website is an important bridge between users and organizations. How to build a website providing users an easy and efficient way to explore and get the information to fit their needs becomes a main concern.
The purpose of this study targeted first participants in each group by the factor of their different background. And investigate the possibility of their performance affected by the factor of different backgrounds by adopting Modify-Delphi Card Sorting.
The occupation and subject major of first participants in each group were the controlling variables and five information structures are formed in this study. The collected data were analysed by task-oriented fundability test on various website’s information architectures, and showed that the first participants with professional background could lead better information architectures then the others. In addition, it also showed that the Modified-Delphi Card Sorting is a usable tool to gather users’ opinions while constructing the website.
