The crowdfunding market is experiencing rapid growth, with "Reward-based crowdfunding" being a prevalent approach where funds are raised first and then products or rewards are provided to backers. There are various forms of crowdfunding, but research and data on crowdfunding in education are notably lacking compared to the thriving market.
Currently, most people learn about crowdfunding through online resources, as crowdfunding courses are scarce. This study aims to address this gap by focusing on college students and designing an educational curriculum for Reward-based crowdfunding. The research involves analyzing crowdfunding and Reward-based crowdfunding, as well as selecting the Backward design model for the course design.
The educational course is designed to span 16 weeks and specifically targets college students. By comparing proposed crowdfunding curriculum and online courses, the study seeks to identify commonalities between the two and highlight the advantages of proposed crowdfunding curriculum. The Backward design model is proposed as a beneficial curriculum design approach.
The study reveals that learners who take crowdfunding courses can gain a deeper understanding of crowdfunding and enhance their competitiveness. Ultimately, the research aims to offer different thinking approaches for crowdfunding education.
