本論文的主題是從美國高中視角來探討全人教育在IB課程中的實踐。該論文通過對全人教育歷史的回歸、理論的介紹、參考文獻的分析,綜合概括全人教育的理念。同時介紹國際文憑教育的內容、理念及其考核內容,並探討其中全人教育的內涵。以筆者所任教的高中和所在的學區為例,介紹與分析美國高中的國際文憑教育和全人教育的實施和果效,並提出中文教學的建議。
取材與研究方法:關於美國高中的國際文憑,以筆者所任教的美國公立高中為例,針對它的全人教育,國際文憑課程施行的現狀及其效果,對國際文憑任課老師,學生的採訪,尤其是對國際文憑課程的問卷調查進行分析,並加上筆者在中文課堂上,所設計的相應課程的反思,探討全人教育這個議題。另外也會根據筆者教授中文AP和AP閱卷的經驗對國際文憑和中文AP的評量作一比較。在介紹分析國際文憑課程的中文項目時,以目前筆者所教的初級課程為例。
關於全人教育的實施,以筆者所任教的美國公立高中所屬的拉斯弗吉尼斯聯合學區為例,探討其中的360學生計劃和360社區計劃的內容和實施的果效。通過參加這些計劃的活動,與教師、學生、家長的訪談來收集第一手資料。
該論文的研究成果是通過對全人教育和IB課程這個主題的研究,認識、瞭解國際課程在幫助學生建立對自身的認識,個體身、心、靈的全面發展,對各個學科之間聯繫的認識,在生活和實踐中運用所學的知識,跟社區,社群的聯繫,對多元文化的尊重、瞭解等諸方面,所產生的影響。
The theme of this thesis is to explore the practice of holistic education in the IB program from the perspective of American high schools. The paper summarizes the concept of holistic education through the historical view, the theories, and the analysis of related articles. It discusses the content, concept, and assessment of the IB program to explore the aspects of holistic education. Take the high school that I teach as an example to introduce and analyze the implementation and effectiveness of the IB program and holistic education in American high schools.
Regarding the IB program at American high schools, I take the American public high school I teach as an example and explore the aspect of the holistic education, the status quo, and effect of the implementation of the IB program, through the interviews with the IB teachers and students. I also conduct a survey of the IB program, I reflect on the issue of holistic education in the Chinese class, and the corresponding curriculum designed.
Regarding the implementation of holistic education, I take Las Virgenes Unified School District as an example, to explore the content and implementation of the 360 Student Program and the 360 Community Program. I collect first-hand information by interviewing teachers, students, and parents and by participating in these programs.
The purpose of this research is through the study of the holistic education and IB program to understand the relationship between two, how does IB program help students build their understanding of themselves, to keep a balanced development of individual body, mind, and spirit, and cultivate the understanding of the connection between various disciplines; In real life, how does it encourage the students to put the learned knowledge into practice in their lives, to connect with the community, the society, to understand the other cultures and respect them.
