本研究的目的在透過環境行為研究和使用後評估的角度，找出國立臺灣師範大學羅馬廣場維護管理上的問題，並提出相關之建議。研究對象為羅馬廣場維護管理人員1人，研究者本人即是維修人員，研究方法為實地參與觀察法。研究結果發現：一、在維護空間方面：羅馬廣場的評估地區與項目依照排水系統位置可劃分為(一)內環區；(二)中環區；(三)外環區。評估項目包括灌溉設施、更新草皮、植栽管理、排水設施、服務設施等五項。評估結果發現，(一)內環區的問題包括灌溉系統的不適當；花圃闢建於水泥地上，植栽養成不易；排水口只有一只，大雨來時形成淹水；廣場看台無垃圾桶設置，易遺留大量垃圾；(二)中環區包括灌溉系統的不適當；排水系統不健全易形成淹水；無設置垃圾桶，形成垃圾髒亂；(三)外環區：灌溉系統不適當，植栽因人為的破壞養成不易；排水口、排水溝設置不當易形成淹水；未設立垃圾桶、垃圾亂丟。建議:架設自動灌溉管理系統，拓寬並加深排水溝，增加排水口數量，增設垃圾桶、立告示牌。二、在工作人員的休息室空間方面：休息室空間不足，空氣不流通，飲水劣化，影響維護人員健康，在硬體方面建議應改善灌溉設施；增設排水口；提供垃圾桶等服務設施以減少髒亂情形發生。建議: 架設自動灌溉管理系統，舖設韓國草，拓寬加深排水溝及排水口數量，增設垃圾桶，改良土壤植栽的保全。三、在管理方面則建議更換草皮的品種和土質，才能確保羅馬廣場美化環境的功能。建議:休息室須拆除重建，改善飲水裝備，設置空調系統及衛浴設備。

The purpose of this study was Based on environment and behavior studies and Post Occupancy Evaluation, the present study investigated maintenance and management of the Rome Square at National Taiwan Normal University and made concrete suggestions accordingly. The participant in this study was a superintendent of the Rome Square; the author of this study was a maintenance worker at the Square. On-site participation and observation were the research methods adopted by this study. The study results showed that, in terms of maintenance, the Rome Square needed to improve its irrigation facilities, sod revetment, planting management, drainage system and service facilities. In addition, the staff lounge was small with poor ventilation and reduced drinking water quality, and this affected the health of the maintenance staff. This study suggested that the Rome Square’s irrigation facilities be improved and more drain openings installed. Trash cans should also be provided to reduce littering. A suggestion regarding management was that the existing sod and soil covering the Rome Square should be replaced with a different type. This would reinforce the role of the Rome Square as part of a beautiful campus.
The Rome Square at National Taiwan Normal University is a public space. Overall, the architecture and landscaping of Rome Square no longer satisfies its users due to changes in campus socialization, free atmosphere and environmental behavior throughout the years. Based on Post Occupancy Evaluation and environmental behavior, this study aimed at identifying suitable user behavior at the Rome Square and providing suggestions for future improvements, reconstruction, maintenance and management of the Square. As one of the Rome Square’s maintenance staff, the author studied the Square and the related environmental behavior through years of on-site observation and data collection and analysis. The study results may serve as a reliable and important reference for the University.
