The study is mainly to investigate the impact of water activity on the health-related fitness of college students with cerebral palsy; in the beginning, there are, at first, three participants who take part in the study. In the process of experiment, one of the participants who withdrew in consideration of physical conditions. Based on the principle of experiment ethics, we accept it in honoring the willing the subject test. This study has employed intervention management of the inverted experiment design A-B-A with single subject research. The independent variable of the study is water activity, while the dependent variable is body composition analysis (BMI), upper extremity muscular fitness, lower extremity muscular fitness, and flexibility.
The experiment management of the study is classified into three stages, which are respectively as baseline period, intervention period, and maintenance period. During the process of study, the researcher has based on the self-produced "water activity curriculum" as its prescription of intervention sport, and carried out information collection on health-related fitness before and after the intervention of sport.
The results of the study are: 1. intervention of water sport exerts immediate effect upon body composition towards college students with cerebral palsy yet not with lasting effect; 2. intervention of water sport exerts immediate effect upon upper extremity muscular fitness towards college students with cerebral palsy yet with lasting effect; 3. intervention of water sport exerts immediate effect upon lower extremity muscular fitness towards college students with cerebral palsy yet not with lasting effect; 4. intervention of water sport exerts immediate effect upon softness towards college students with cerebral palsy yet not with lasting effect. In view of the aforementioned study results, we have put forward related suggestion to future studies regarding water activity for college students with cerebral palsy.
