尤金‧易沙意(Eugéne Ysaÿe, 1858-1931)所創作之六首無伴奏奏鳴曲在歷史上之意義為，融合了巴哈無伴奏小提琴奏鳴曲的「複音音樂(Polyphony)形式」及帕格尼尼二十四首奇想曲的「炫技(virtuoso)」成分。
本論文是以第四號、第五號奏鳴曲為研究主題。其中，第四號奏鳴曲之主題節奏感強烈，最能符合易沙意富有韻律的演奏風格。除了第五號奏鳴曲外，其餘五首奏鳴曲，均是獻給當代同輩的小提琴家，唯有第五號奏鳴曲是獻給自己的學生。
本文除了對這兩首奏鳴曲的分析與詮釋之外，還探討了易沙意其他作品、個人專屬記號、理念與風格，期望在演奏易沙意的作品之前，能先對他的作品特色有個概略的瞭解。
