網管中心以網管系統為網管運作工具。在網路有異常時,經由執行網管指令,來引導、限制、阻隔、或逕予清除網路上的呼叫,以保護交換機免於受異常呼叫的影響而發生壅塞或癱瘓。網管系統可提供近乎即時的網路訊務資料,但對於網路事件的判斷和排解,仍需要依靠網管人員去判斷、決策、及操作。為網管中心建立一套網管決策支援系統,可以提高網管人員在做判斷、決策時的時效性。
本研究首先探討網路交換機所能提供的網管監視及控制功能,也就是先探討網管系統所能使用的工具。其次對現行的網管系統做功能分析和探討,以決定網管決策支援系統的位階和功能需求。其次對網路異常事件做訊務分析,並以網管模擬網路來進行異常資訊的判斷演練,配合實際網路事件的現場報表佐證,以加深網管決策判斷流程的可靠度。最後設計出一套網管決策支援系統。
網管決策支援系統:(1)在網路異常事件發生時,可以輔助網管人員迅速有效地採取網管措施,以爭取處理網路事件最可貴的時效性。(2)在平時則可用來供網管人員做為網管策略的模擬測試和演練。(3)可以用來做為網管中心新進的員工的訓練教具。(4)在個別網路上累積的數據和經驗,可做為未來網管專家系統在建立知識庫和推論引擎的重要參考依據。
The Network Management System (NMS) serves as instrument for NM Center (NMC). NM DataBase (NMDB) is the heart of the hardware of NMS. NMC monitors the status of switches and network with NMS, and takes NM actions, in network exception period, to direct, limit, block, or directly clear the calls within network lest switches should congest or disable from exceptional calls. Although the data collected from NMS are nearly real-time, yet the distinct network event still needs to be judged, decision-made, and operated by the individual member of NMC. To build up a Network Management Decision Making Supporting System (NMDMSS) for NMC can make up the insufficiency of NMS function. However, to judge a network exceptional event is complicated and extensively, which makes the taking of proper NM actions time-consuming. In order to handle such problem, NMDMSS is necessary.
The five main topics of this thesis are as following: First, the study in the function of NM Surveillance and Control. Second, the analysis of the function of NMS, in which NMDMSS will be built up and functioned. Third, the study of the exceptional traffic data stored in the DataBase of NMS which gathered from the field switches. Fourth, use the exceptional data to evidence that the judgement flowchart works well. And last, to devise a NMDMSS.
The function of NMDMSS are : a) help the NMC staff to promptly and accurately handle network events occurred in network exceptional period. b) help the NMC staff to simulate, testify, and practise the NM strategies. c) serve as on-the-job training instrument for NMC new-comers. And d) help to experiment and collect data from different networks, which will facilitate the future NM Expert System (NMES) to make the NM Rules refer to the Knowledge Base and Inference Engine.
