In the context of a competitive environment, employees play a vital role in organizational innovation. Until recently, there has been little research on the
contextual factors that enhance or inhibit employees’ taking charge behavior , and it is still a considerable research gap. Therefore, this study examines the relationship between the quality of Team-member-exchange and proactive behavior of taking charge with the mediator: team commitment.
The research object is set up as a self-management team for more than 2 people. We would like to know whether the quality of team-member-exchange can positively affect the team members proactive behavior of taking charge.
This study takes the theory of Social Recognition as the basis of inference. As a secondary support our hypothesis, we found out the model of team commitment to cause and effect.
Through using the statistical software SPSS22.0 and AMOS18.0,and the results indicated that team member exchange and team commitment have positively related
to the taking charge behavior .The team commitment partially mediated the relationship between team member exchange and taking charge behavior.
