“Intelligent Organization”comesfrom thetheory of organization intelligence. The intelligence comes from gathering, interpreting, and understanding information, and helpsorganization build core competence, strengthen renewal capability and upgrade the value of product and service.
University is a kind of organization. Recently, university is undergoing many severe challenges and pressure. The authortriedto make use of the theory of Intelligent Organizationand apply it to universities. However, there was few empirical study of Intelligent University. The purpose of the study was constructing and verifyingthe indicators of Intelligent University.
The original model obtained 4 factors and 60 indicators from literature of organization intelligenceand intelligent organization. A random sampling was draw from a complete list of professors, associate professors and assistant professors in 12 top universities. In order to verify the factor structure, exploratory factor analysis and confirmatoryfactor analysis and a series examination of reliability and validation were conducted. The result showed that Intelligent Universityindicators are composed of 5 factors and 43indicators, and it has a stable structure and great reliability and validation. The suggestions for the study and for future research wereprovided.
