本研究旨在探討影響男性憂鬱的相關因素，進而瞭解性別角色衝突、憂鬱傾向與社會支持的關係。本研究以大專技職院校的男性大學生為研究對象，採取立意取樣，回收有效樣本405份。研究工具採用「男性性別角色衝突量表」、「社會支持量表」及研究者翻譯的「男性憂鬱量表」。資料分析方法為因素分析、信度分析、描述性統計、單因子變異數分析、t考驗以及結構方程模式。主要研究結果如下：
一、男性大學生性別角色衝突為中度偏低，社會支持為中度偏高，在憂鬱傾向上則是生氣反應、內在症狀多於消極回應。
二、背景變項部分：（一）有親密伴侶在「性別角色衝突」與「憂鬱傾向」低於無伴侶的受試；（二）有親密伴侶在「社會支持」高於無伴侶的受試；（三）三年級受試的「憂鬱傾向」高於四年級的受試；（四）不同學門受試在「性別角色衝突」、「憂鬱傾向」與「社會支持」皆無顯著差異。
三、結構方程模式：（一）性別角色衝突會直接影響憂鬱傾向；（二）社會支持會直接影響憂鬱傾向；（三）性別角色衝突會透過社會支持間接影響憂鬱傾向。
本研究發現「性別角色衝突」與「社會支持」皆會對憂鬱傾向產生影響，但「社會支持」在性別角色衝突與憂鬱傾向之間具有中介效果，另一方面，男性憂鬱呈現「消極回應」、「生氣反應」的症狀，與男性角色社會化有關。
最後，研究者根據本研究結果加以討論，並提出建議，以應用在助人工作、性別教育方面，並作為未來研究之參考。

This study aims to analyze related factors leading to masculine depression, and to clarify interrelationships among gender role conflict, masculine depression and social support. The population of this research is male college students. Through purposive sampling, the questionnaires retrieved 405 men. “Male Gender Role Conflict Scale”, “Social Support Scale” and “The Masculine Depression Scale” (translated by the researcher) are adopted as research instruments. Methods of data analysis are factor analysis, Cronbach
analysis, descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA, t-test and structural equation modeling. The main findings are as follows:

First, male college students have medium to lower gender role conflict and medium to higher social support. On the aspect of masculine depression, aggressive responses and internalizing symptoms appear more than negative reactions.

Second, about background variables: 1. subjects with intimate partner have lower scores on aspect of “gender-role conflict” and “masculine depression” than those without intimate partner. 2. subjects with intimate partner have higher scores on aspect of “social support” than those without intimate partner. 3. third grade subjects have higher scores on “the Masculine Depression Scale” than fourth grade subjects. 4. there is no significant difference exists on aspects of “gender-role conflict”, “masculine depression” and “social support” among subjects majoring in varied subjects.

Third, the structural equation models are as follows: 1. gender role conflict and 2. social support will directly influence masculine depression. 3. gender-role conflict will indirectly influence masculine depression via social support.

The results indicate that “gender role conflict” and “social support” directly influence masculine depression. But social support has mediating effect between gender role conflict and masculine depression. On the other hand, masculine depression would appear symptoms of “negative reactions” and “aggressive responses”, which are related to male role socialization.

Finally, based on research results, the researcher proposes suggestions for discussion and application for helping professional, gender education, and future researches.
