本創作以「藝術、神話與信仰下的使徒」為題,茲分為五個章節。題中「使徒」(古希臘語:ἀπόστολος),意指擔負使命的人、傳遞信息的人,而筆者即是透過藝術創作和神話文本之間的臨創轉換,體現出其中之信仰價值,將自身信念理念藉由創作傳達於眾人面前。
此文探討作者從2019到2022年的作品與創作歷程,以神話敘事的手法作為個人創作主題的發展,並延伸希臘神話中的酒神典故/酒神精神,試圖詮釋出筆者在檢視現今社會的脈絡背景後,而得出全人類是需要一種「痛苦的歡樂」。透過對神話文本的轉化與再述,進而表達創作者的哲學思想與個人生命經歷,將之昇華為自身創作裡。
第一章緒論針對本研究主題與內容做概略闡述,其後解釋出創作動機與目的並確立研究範圍與方法;第二章從學理研究切入,選擇了圍繞在自身創作理論中的三大學術基礎:神話文本(classical myth)、溫尼考特的過渡性客體(transitional object)與錯覺以及戴奧尼索酒神精神(Dionysian),用此三點支撐其創作核心價值觀,與個人創作理念相互比較對照;第三章作這四年間的創作路徑之整體脈絡與梳理,闡述出創作的背景與歷程,如何一步步建構起自身的神話世界觀,並解釋其不同系列中的創作理念與脈絡,最後說明使用的創作媒材與形式,以組織整體的創作研究架構;第四章以圖像學的方法更加詳細地分析自身創作中的藝術實踐,並針對系列作品的表現形式、創作過程及理念作介紹和闡述;最後以結論作為第五章節為此研究與創作下論點、未來可能發展與省思。
This work is divided into five chapters under the title of " The Apostle under Art, Myth and Belief". The word "apostle" in the title means a person who carries out a mission, who delivers a message. Through the mythology, I’ve been able to express the value of my belief in my artworks, and also to convey my beliefs to the public through all these works.
This discourse discusses my works and creative process from 2019 to 2022, using mythological narrative as a development of my own creative theme and extending the spirit of the god of wine in Greek mythology. I have tried to explain my observation of the context of today's society and come to the conclusion that all human beings need a "joy of pain". Through the transformation and retelling of mythological texts, I have been able to express my philosophical thoughts and personal life experiences, sublimating them into my own art works.
The first chapter provides an overview of the theme and content of this study, followed by an explanation of the motivation and purpose of the creation, and the establishment of the research scope and methodology.
The second chapter begins with theoretical studies and selects three academic foundations of my art works’ theory: classical myth, Winnicott's “transitional object” and illusion, and the Dionysian spirit, using these three points to support my core values of art works and to compare and contrast with my own philosophy.
The third chapter is the context of the four years of my works, explaining the background and the process of the works. It shows how I constructed my own mythological worldview step by step, and explains the creative concepts in the different series. Finally, it explains the media and forms I use, and the structure that organizes all my works.
The fourth chapter analyzes my artistic practice in more detail using a graphic approach, and introduces and explains the expressions, processes, and concepts of the series. The fifth chapter contains the conclusion, which contains the arguments for the research and the works, and the possibilities for future development and reflection.
