近年來,台越兩國之間的國際貿易與外交關係良好的發展,促進了商業活動及跨國文化交流。台灣具有良好的華語學習環境,教育資源及獎學來源多,成為許多越南學生心目中理想學習環境的國家。越南學生的數量逐年增加引起了許多台灣學者的關注並選擇該族群為研究對象。然而在越南大量留學生的人數當中,存在著一群特殊身分的學生為越南僧侶。此族群人數並不多,但是未來可成為兩國之間宗教力量的連結。因此,本論以10位越南僧侶作為研究對象,透過質化研究方法的深度 訪談,探討他們在台灣學習過程中適應環境的各面向問題。本研究結果發現,越南僧侶學生來台灣留學之動機為學習華語。在留學過程中他們所遇到的學習問題為語言能力、論文寫作。在適應生活上遇到的困擾為天氣、思鄉、經濟及不平等對待的問題。此外,由於兩國之間文化的相似,越南僧侶學生在融入台灣文化的歷程沒有很大的問題。因此,各校系所及政府單位可對這些問題而提供適合的輔導計畫,包括:針對系所專業課程而開設高級華語課、論文寫作引導、英語諮詢服務、提供更有彈性的獎學金制度、校內工讀管道等,讓僧侶們不因為這些困難而中斷學業。

In recent years, international trade and diplomatic relations between Taiwan and Vietnam have promoted commercial activities and cross-border cultural exchanges. Taiwan has become an ideal learning environment for Vietnamese students due to its favorable Chinese-language learning environment, abundant educational resources, and scholarship sources. The increasing number of Vietnamese students has attracted the attention of many Taiwanese scholars, and they selected this topic as the research object. However, among the large number of students studying abroad in Vietnam, there exists a particular group of students who are Vietnamese monks. The number of this group is not large, but it could be a future religious link between the two countries. Therefore, this study aims to explore how Vietnamese monk students’ study abroad, particularly in Taiwan, and their adaption during their study in Taiwan. This study employed a qualitative method, interviewing ten participants from different institutions across Taiwan. This study found that the motivation of Vietnamese monk students to study in Taiwan was learning Chinese. Other problems they encountered in the process of studying abroad were language ability and thesis writing. Despite cultural similarities, Vietnamese monk students still meet some difficulties of unequal treatment, financial issues, homesick, weather which are necessary to be taken notice on. Institutions and departments can adjust policies and provide supports for those students to avoid their dropouts, such as offering advanced Chinese course, thesis writing guidance, English consulting services. Moreover, an efficient scholarship system, and financial aids may deal with students’ problems.
