This study takes the development of novel coronavirus pneumonia and the uncertainty management theory as the framework of the study. For most people, video conferencing is a rare experience, and without preparation, most people are unable to adapt immediately, not only because of the change in work style, but also because of increased physical and mental health concerns. In this study, we explored the correlates between individual technological innovativeness, cognitive flexibility, being infected anxiety, self-efficacy in human-computer interaction with online conferencing (SEHCIOC), self-efficacy in online conferencing contents (SEOCC) and video conferencing for job performance under COVID-19 lockdown. In this study, a snowball survey was conducted and a total of 557 office workers were returned and subjected to confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling, and 502 data were validated. The results of the study showed that: (1) technological innovativeness is negatively related to being infected anxiety; (2) cognitive flexibility is negatively related to being infected anxiety; (3) being infected anxiety is negatively related to SEOCC and SEHCIOC; (4) SEOCC and SEHCIOC are positively related to job performance; (5) being infected anxiety is negatively related to job performance mediated by two types of self-efficacies. Expectedly, the results of this study can be applied to those managers who try to increase the effectiveness of online conference by promote employees’ technological innovativeness and cognitive flexibility.
