  • 本研究旨在設計一個改良式螢幕鍵盤(Enhanced On-Screen Keyboard),彌補無法操控功能表(menu)的缺點;並探討「改良式螢幕鍵盤」的功能表操控功能,是否可以提升中度或重度肢體障礙者執行階層式下拉功能表(Cascading Pull-Down Menu)的效能。研究對象為三名重度肢體障礙者,利用單一受試法中的交替處理設計(Alternating Treatments Design, ATD),比較受試者使用「改良式螢幕鍵盤」打字後,運用不同操作方式執行階層式下拉功能表的效能。
    經過實際測試,「改良式螢幕鍵盤」的功能表操控功能可以順利在17種應用軟體中發揮功能,這些軟體分別是:Microsoft Word 2000、Microsoft Excel 2000、Microsoft PowerPoint 2000、Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0、Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.9、Microsoft Outlook Express 6、Microsoft Outlook 2000、Yahoo! 奇摩即時通 8.1.0.209、MSN Messenger 7.0、記事本 5.0、Microsoft Access 2000、iTunes 7、RealPlayer 10.5、Adobe Reader 7.0、Ulead PhotoImpact 10.0、ACDSee 7.0、UltraEdit 11.00a+3。
    對游標移動緩慢或是準確性不佳的重度肢體障礙者而言,利用「改良式螢幕鍵盤」執行階層式下拉功能表中的功能項目,會有較佳的效能表現。
    研究中也發現,受試者對螢幕鍵盤的版面自訂功能和中文輸入法的支援相當在意。「改良式螢幕鍵盤」允許自訂版面,並支援10種中文輸入法。受試者對「改良式螢幕鍵盤」的滿意度極高,目前也都繼續使用「改良式螢幕鍵盤」做為輸入工具。

    The purposes of this study were to design an Enhanced On-screen Keyboard, which was to improve the functions of on-screen keyboard about the menu selections; and to evaluate the performance of Enhanced On-screen Keyboard with cascading pull-down menu selections for individuals with severely physical impairment. In this research, there were 3 subjects with severely physical impairment, and the researchers use an Alternating Treatments Design(ATD) to evaluate the performance of 4 methods of menu selections.
    Through testing, the menu-selection functions of Enhanced On-screen Keyboard can work in 17 application software products well. These application software products are Microsoft Word 2000, Microsoft Excel 2000, Microsoft PowerPoint 2000, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0, Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.9, Microsoft Outlook Express 6, Microsoft Outlook 2000, Yahoo! Messenger 8.1.0.209, MSN Messenger 7.0, Microsoft Notepad 5.0, Microsoft Access 2000, iTunes 7, RealPlayer 10.5, Adobe Reader 7.0, Ulead PhotoImpact 10.0, ACDSee 7.0, and UltraEdit 11.00a+3.
    For subjects with severely physical impairment who move cursor slowly or are not precise in pointing, the performance of using the Enhanced On-screen Keyboard to select menu item is better.
    In the study, researchers found that subjects care about the function of user-defined layout and the support of Chinese input methods. Enhanced on-screen keyboard provides the function of user-defined layout and supports 10 kinds of Chinese input methods. Subjects are satisfied with enhanced on-screen keyboard and continue using it.
