Purposes of the study were to explore the web searching behavior of junior high school formal teachers in Taipei city, discuss the influence of teachers’ background on the web searching behaviors, and draw out conclusions and suggestions to provide authorities for conducting work shop.
Instrument of the study was the “web searching behavior questionnaire for junior high school teachers in Taipei city”. The samples of 275 subjects were selected from 9 junior high schools of 7 regions in Taipei. The statistic methods, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one way ANOVA and post-hoc tests, were used to analyze the collected data.
Junior teachers’ web searching motives were better than senior teachers’. The web searching methods of teachers with administrative duties were better than mentor teachers’ and full-time teachers’. The web searching skills of teachers who taught music, art, and sport were better than these who taught math, science, and language. Female teachers had higher need to the content of curriculum than male teachers.
Researcher suggested authorities can conduct stable web searching environment, suitable contents, easy learning methods, well-experienced instructors, and more opportunities for mentor teachers and full-time teachers when they conducted the web searching work shop.
