The study aims to survey the exercise behaviors of vocational high school students during their leisure time and to examine its relations with selected demographic characteristics as well as psychosocial variables including exercise self-efficacy, exercise outcome expectations and exercise social support. By using a stratified cluster sampling method, 431 of valid samples are collected with self-administered questionnaires. One-way ANOVA, Scheffe's posterior comparison, Person's product-moment correlation and multiple regression are used to analyze the collected data. The results indicate that (1) Both boys and girls had the same exercise intensity and frequency in leisure time activities; however, boys exercised longer than girls. (2) Boys got significantly higher scores than girls in self-efficacy. (3) As to outcome expectations, parents’ work status of the technical form got significantly higher scores ; students who attend school sports teams got significantly higher scores than those who didn't. (4) Girls got more social support than boys; first-graders got significantly higher scores than second-graders; resident conditions was found to had significant effects. (5) The total amount of variance of leisure time exercise behavior explained by all independent variance was 17.8%. The determinants of sex, self-efficacy, outcome expectations and social support are influential in predicting students' exercise behaviors.
