The purpose of this study was to understand the key factors when establishing an individual “ team style” in high school basketball in Taiwan. According to the theories of managerial approaches, the researcher developed a “Questionnaire of the Study of High School Basketball Team Style” as the tool for investigation. The studying subjects were coaches and players from both men and women high school “Division A” teams and also the participant audiences and the interested groups.
Based on the collected valid copies of questionnaires, through the comparative analysis, the results showed that “coach leadership behavior” was considered to be the most important factor toward the establishment of a team style and then the following order of the factors would be “ teamwork” and “ organizational culture”. The results also showed that the difference in group, gender and position would affect the point of views toward the three factors: coach leadership behavior, teamwork and organizational culture. However, all three were considered as the key factors toward the establishment of a “ team style”. The results supported the hypotheses of this research.
