Individuals with previous deviant behaviors are more likely to engage in persistent and more serious deviant behaviors due to the risk of previous deviant behaviors, or to have more unstable education or employment due to such deviant behaviors. However, not all adolescents with deviant behaviors can only go down the negative path, some individuals' development in the future is as stable as those without deviant behaviors. If we can figure out what works for these stable individuals, we might be able to apply these strategies to other adolescents in similar situations. Therefore, this study intends to explore which protective factors of adolescents in the risk situation can predict their education and employment status in their emerging adulthood, hoping to serve as a reference for adolescent counseling work, so as to avoid teenagers with deviant behaviors being accused and given up, and to get appropriate accompany.
This study uses the Taiwan Education Panel Survey (TEPS) and Taiwan Education Panel Survey and Beyond (TEPS-B) as a research tool. In order to meet the sequence of risk scenarios, protection factors, and positive adaptation, this study selects the individuals with deviant behaviors in 2003 (Ninth grade ), combined with the protection factors at all levels in 2005 (eleventh grade) , and the education and employment status in 2013 (24, 25 years old), deducting the missing and lost, a total of 220 people, with hierarchical regression analysis, to understand which protective factors can predict the education and employment status of the group of individuals at 24, 25 years old who have had deviation behaviors.
Aiming at the research problems, descriptive statistics, Pearson product moment correlation, and hierarchical regression analysis methods were carried out by using the statistical software SPSS. The findings are as follows:
1.In terms of education level, most of the respondents' education level is in higher education, and most of them complete university education. In terms of full-time work, most respondents are full-time workers. Overall, education and employment levels were at a moderate to high level, with most of them being highly educated and working full time.
2.For teenagers with deviant behaviors, their educational expectation and school dependence are all related to their future education and employment situation. The higher their educational expectation and school dependence degree are, the higher their future education and employment situation will be.
According to the results of the study, it is suggested that the guidance work for teenagers with deviant behaviors should focus on enhancing their expectations for career development in the future and enhancing the support of schools for teenagers, which may lead to their stable employment status and better development in the future.
