徽章（emblems）是用來識別單位與展現該單位精神的象徵，軍隊徽章的用途不僅如此，更是戰場上辨識敵我的重要區分。隨著時代的演進，國軍歷經多次革新，過去採行的徽章也必須重新規劃與設計，以回應二十一世紀新世代的挑戰。本研究針對中華民國陸軍徽章作為研究樣本，透過問卷調查與個別訪談，歸納分析志願役軍人對現行徽章設計的喜好與認知，並從中瞭解到志願役軍人對於單位徽章設計的需求：外觀形狀與配色以簡單大方、現代感為主，並結合單位特色與任務，或增添單位代號或番號，以增加單位辨識度等設計元素。
並依據問卷與訪談結果，針對中華民國陸軍下轄的兩所學校、三個軍團指揮部、四個防衛指揮部、一個航空特戰指揮部、憲兵指揮部、後勤指揮部、教育訓練暨準則發展指揮部等上校以上層級編階單位，共計60個徽章，在色彩配色上須考慮單位層級之區分、電繡專用布料及繡線顏色的選擇。因此，在多方修正後，共計使用42種不同色彩，每個層級單位均運用類似色與對比色的搭配方法；在徽章的圖像設計上，結合過去徽章的歷史背景、單位代表特性或裝備武器等，運用圖形符號（Pictograms）凸顯單位特徵及簡化造形，作為本研究之徽章設計。
本研究從問卷調查、訪談到瞭解、分析研究結果中發現，國軍在徽章更新替換上為一大工程，因此希望藉由本研究創作流程與結果，供日後國軍部隊在更新徽章設計進行上能有實際之參考，使國軍部隊徽章設計能與時俱進，符合二十一世紀的新國軍。

Emblems are symbols used to identify units and show the spirit of the unit. The use of military emblems is also an important distinction on the battlefield. With the evolution of the times, R.O.C Army’s emblems have undergone many innovations, and the emblems adopted in the past must be re-planned and designed in response to the challenges of the new generation of the 21st century. This study is based on the survey of the R.O.C Army emblems. Through questionnaires and in-depth interviews, this paper summarizes the preferences and cognitions of active army on the current emblems design, and understands the needs of active army for the design of unit emblems. The main shape is shield with simple lines and generous presentation of modernity ; emblems design elements with unit features and tasks; increased recognition by unit code or number.
According to questionnaires and interview results, I research to following units which department level are higher than colonel such as : the two military schools under the jurisdiction of the R.O.C Army, three legion headquarters, four defense headquarters, an aviation SF command, MP command, logistics headquarters, army education, training and doctrine development command etc. all emblems are total 60. In the color matching, the division of the unit level and the selection of the special fabric for embroidery and the color of the embroidery thread must be considered. Therefore, after multiple corrections, a total of 42 different colors are used. Each level unit uses the matching method of similar color and contrast color; in the image design of the emblems, combined with the historical background, unit representative characteristics or equipment and weapons , using pictograms to highlight the unit features and simplify the shape. Above mentioned are as the emblems design for this study.
From the questionnaire survey, interviews and analysis of the research results, this study found that to update the emblems of R.O.C Army is a huge project. I hope that the research process and results can be used to R.O.C Army as reference for the actual updated emblems design. The emblems design of the troops can keep pace with the times and conform to the spirit of the new R.O.C Army in the 21st century.
