Owing to working holiday is popular in Taiwan, the purpose of this research was to investigating the relationships among the three variables: Taiwanese working holiday makers’ motivation of gaining overseas experience, future work self-salience and expatriation willingness. This study used a quantitative method, designed an online self-reported questionnaire and applied convenience sampling approach to collect data. Participants were Taiwanese who ever had working holiday experience overseas, regardless which overseas countries or regions they had ever stayed. There were 351 valid questionnaires collected, and the results revealed the three variables are significantly and positively related with each other and future work self salience mediates the positive relation between motivation of gaining overseas experience and expatriation willingness. The practical implications derived from this study would help employers to improve the efficiency of selecting expatriated candidates and direct individual career development.
