Digital transformation has become an important strategy and priority. The advances in digital technology have led to rapid changes in the market; therefore, many companies have invested in digital transformation to adapt to this situation. This study aims to understand how companies manage their knowledge and information, and how to build relationships and exchange information with other companies to generate good digital transformation outcomes. We tried to explore the effect of appropriability regime, trust, and relationship learning on digital transformation business model renewal.
A total of 316 valid samples were collected from executives of enterprises that implement digital transformation business and analyzed by SPSS 23 and JASP software. The results of this study showed that: (1) Appropriability regime and trust had a positive effect on relationship learning. (2) Appropriability regime and trust had a positive effect on digital transformation business model renewal. (3) Relationship learning played a partial mediating role between appropriability regime and digital transformation business model renewal. On the other hand, relationship learning played a full mediating role between trust and digital transformation business model renewal. In summary, if companies want to successfully implement digital transformation business model renewal, they should establish an appropriability regime, trust, and focus on relationship learning activities with business partners to achieve smooth implementation of digital transformation and create a new business model.
